Hi, I’m Lev Sibilla (he/him), a Portland, Oregon born-and-based tattoo artist specializing in collage-style designs, illustrative freehand, and contemporary judaica. When I’m not tattooing, I make mixed-media sculpture, write, bake challah, and dig for stuff in the gutter.
STUDIO/ACCESSIBILITY
I work out of a licensed private studio in SE. Portland, OR. The space is very small but is ADA accessible (accessed via elevator), and my tattooing chair is rated up to 450 lbs. There are ADA accessible bathrooms on the same floor. The studio is unfortunately not equipped to host guests. There is NO ATM on site.
HOW TO BOOK
Appointments can be scheduled via my calendar site here. If you don't see any appointments available, my books are full. If you’d like to be alerted when new appointments open each month, please join my mailing list.
If you are planning traveling to Portland and want to get a tattoo during a specific time frame, email me 1-2 months in advance at trinketkeepertattoo@gmail.com with your full name, phone number, and the specific days you’ll be available for the best chance at getting an appointment.
Please be prepared to pay a deposit in order to secure your appointment.
TRAVELING
I do not travel frequently, and can only plan a work trip if I have enough potential clients to guarantee filling my appointments. Travel announcements will be made via my mailing list and via social media as far in advance as I'm able.
TATTOOING LOGISTICS
Most small-medium tattoos placed on arms/legs take 2-3 hours. Complex placements and custom work may take longer. Very small but higher-stakes pieces (finger, ear, inner lip) will be priced flat-rate based on complexity. It's important to me that you know what to expect financially going into your tattoo. When booking, you'll be prompted to specify your ideal budget range, and we'll also discuss the exact logistics of the design you've chosen on the day of your appointment.
I charge for tattooing time only, not stencil placement, setup, or takedown.
NOTES ON PRE-DRAWN DESIGNS
All available designs are posted on Instagram at @tktat44. If you see something you like in my gallery ahead of time, you may request it be put on hold when you make your appointment. If you put something on hold but change your mind ahead of your appointment, please let me know ASAP. All pieces have a recommended minimum size, and bigger is better for detail retention.
I prefer not to alter pre-drawn designs.
NOTES ON CUSTOMS
I take on custom projects on a case-by-case basis. No matter the circumstances, please contact me directly (trinketkeepertattoo@gmail.com) to get confirmation that I can take your project on before you schedule your appointment. Your appointment may be cancelled otherwise. There are a number of variables that affect whether I'm able to take on a project, some of which are out of either of our control (such as time limitations). After we’ve discussed your idea and I’ve confirmed I’ll be able to do it, a non-refundable drawing fee (separate from your deposit) will be required before I begin work.
NOTES ON FREEHAND
How it works: When you arrive for a freehand appointment, we will sit down and discuss the concept before starting to draw. Freehand pieces are drawn directly onto the body with a surgical marker. I will attempt to incorporate any overall shapes or ideas you have in mind, but what comes out is largely intuitive and free-form. Inch for inch, they are faster to tattoo than my shaded collage-style work.
COVERUPS/SCARS
I take on coverups on a case by case basis. My work is not conducive to covering up large or dark designs, and there are limitations to what can cover up what. Please contact me for confirmation before booking with a coverup in mind.
I have plenty of experience tattooing over scars, including surgical scars and skin grafts. As long as your scar is settled (ideally 2+ years old) and you have no history of keloids, passing over it with a needle should not be an issue. I am, however, a big proponent of working around freckles and scars, complimenting them with the tattooing rather than covering them up, and often place tattoos with these types of body landmarks in mind.
Please keep in mind that keloid scars, eczema, psoriasis, sun burns, open wounds, and raised and/or irregularly-shaped moles cannot safely be tattooed over.
TOUCHUPS POLICY
I offer free touchups for natural fading/aging on my work up to a year after the initial appointment (and only after the tattoo is fully settled). Touchups due to damage incurred after the appointment (ink loss/infection due to itching/scratching at the tattoo during healing or contact with dirty clothes, etc.) will be charged at my hourly rate.
To schedule a touchup, please contact me with clear, well-lit, in-focus photos of the tattoo and what you’d like fixed up.
PROCESS QUESTIONS
The vast majority of my designs are made collage-style, blending found images together with hand-drawn elements. Much of my material comes from physical magazine cuttings- National Geographic, home decoration, fashion magazines, etc. Common digital sources include online library archives, eBay, shopgoodwill.com, and auction sites. All faces used in my work have been digitally altered so that they no longer resemble the original image unless otherwise specified.
